Quenching your Thirst in Recovery

Catchy title? Good! Now that I have your attention, let me explain. Drinking alcohol is physically addicting, but it is also a habit. Think about it. You go to the store, open the beverage, drink, repeat. Alcohol abuse is just as much a habit of oral fixation as it is a physiological habit.
You should consider replacing the drinking with a healthier alternative. I have worked with a lot of people who start drinking a lot of sugary drinks, juices, and cola’s once they stop drinking alcohol.
With the summer and warm weather creeping up on us, I encourage you to make some alcohol free beverages, keep yourself hydrated, and keep on keeping on in your sobriety! Here is a recipe for a sober spritzer:
Recipe- Blueberry Spritz 1 Can of plain Seltzer Water Add 1/4 cup of crushed blueberries (or strawberries) Add a splash of cranberry juice Mix, and serve over ice
